There is still a room to perform in web design …

It is amazing to discover all the resources related to web design more precisely graphic design. I’m still admiring all those website asking myself if it could be possible to bring something new, genuine and attractive.

I just select some of those who really attract me somehow;

This website is just refreshing, cute

simply warm and original.

Professional and the design is great.

Although internet is full of impressive web design, there is a room for creativity for those who are willing to express themselves especially in Africa where I’m based now. Regardless the tools used; CMS (Content Management System), flash or common web languages (HTML, PHP, CSS, etc.).

In Africa there is community of wonderful web developers who are doing also the graphic design of the website they are designing and their main focus is to build a robust functional website easy to browse. Most of the time they are using CMS such as joomla, drupal, spip, that comes with a set of web design template.

The result is predictable: most African, websites look the same.  Nevertheless you do find original attractive ones;

The author is an artist designer before being a geek.

I like this one it really appeals to african art.

A little bit flashy but it is attractive

Somehow web design is a kind of art and usually you’ve good artists who are not IT-savy or web developers who are not into artistic. Both are passionate about what they do, and their end products are wonderful.

If we could somehow capture the best of both worlds, the results would be great.

I have received an order to design a logo.  My first inclination was provide a logo with universal appeal, but the customer requested something related to my African culture.  It then occurred to me that it can be wonderful and genuine to use our local art to feed the huge  web bank and graphic design resources.

Quote of the day

The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.

Barack Obama

people&barackptt

Among all the drawings, pictures, design Barack Obama inspiring, as to me this one summarizes well what this going-to-be icon represents.

He is a gifted leader as this world has merely seen. He is talented he knows how federate all kind of people. Babies, toddlers, children, teenagers, regardless the race, the sex, the social class or the religion. Why?

Simply because he is humble and when he comes to you he’s connected to you, and somehow he is appeals to the best of oneself.  Just like Nelson Mandela who is the kindest man in the world. If only people can take exemple from him.

The worst part of the war

child-soldier by derrick colter

Hello Art,
people today I wil describe a Derrick Colter drawing.
I don’t have enough information regarding the artist but as you you can see through his work,
he’s african oriented more precisely he is expressing through his painting and drawings remind us the era of pharaoh, the glorious period of Africa. Child soldier gives us a good picture of the atrocity of war when it involves the children our future.
The drawing allows us to see how death alive those child soldiers become. This little boy has black rings under his eyes which are completely dark without any light of hope. He is wearing a helmet bigger than his head which outlines the dark effect on his face.
When we look at that kid the first feeling we have his sadness we want to help him he seems to be lost and we want to rescue him but he’s holding a gun. That gets us down the cruel reality he is a killer and he can take our life. On the background there is something which reminds us pharaoh symbols.
But we are called to help this kid. As to me this drawing is like our beloved continent Africa.
The reality is so cruel but we need to commit ourselves to make sure that the continent will be a good place to live in those coming years.

Painting and Music two world one rythm

Rhythm in the Night

Let’s talk about Gerard Ivey,

He is a native of Florida. He is a talented artist who discovered early the God gift he received. I like the spirit of this artist let take one of his phrase :

“release your spirit and it shall return, for it never left!”

I will move on and describe one of his piece of art; Rhythm in the Night. I must admit I don’t know much about the material qnd the tools he used to perform this job but I will describe the aspect and the feeling it is giving me;

First I must admit that I like the mixture he did. The world of music is introduced at the extension of the woman’s hair. When I take an artist work I want to feel the rythm it is giving us the beauty of the job comes from the harmony it has.

Here we are charmed by this beautiful face with shining hair which vibrate with a song made of with a piano, a violin and a trompe. We can admire too the silky body.

Thanks Gerald for this trip.

I am very excited to share the creative, inspired and passionate part of me with you.Through this blog too I will describe some piece of art realize by other artist that I found interesting. It is all about art. Like Georgia O’Keeffe said:
To create one’s own world in any of the arts takes courage.

With my words I pay my respects to those courageous artists.
